DAY 1 - 3 QUITO/ ANDEAN HIGHLANDS
Travel to Ecuador to visit the Andes, the Amazon,
and the Galapagos Islands. The Galapagos, known
as the "Enchanted Isles", offer one
of the most fascinating eco-systems on earth with exotic species seen no where else on earth.
We start your journey in Quito, a colonial
capital, dating back to the sixteenth century. Take a half day tour to visit
Quito's colonial treasures.....or allow us to escort you into the Andean
highlands to meet with the local vendors and
artisans in one of South America's most
colorful outdoor markets, Otavalo. Adventure further east to visit rainforest
lodges or cruise in air-conditioned comfort among the tributaries of the
Amazon River on the Manatee Explorer. There are half day city tours of Quito including a visit to the Equatorial Monument, where the equator crosses the earth just north of Quito.....or take a full day tour to the Termas Papallacta where volcanic hot springs afford total relaxation.

3 - 7 THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS - EXPEDITON STYLE CRUISES
Our destination now is the Galapagos Islands, 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador.
Daily flights connect you to Baltra or San Cristobal where you will board your
cruise ship. Choose from a 3, 4, or 7 night cruise. Your Galapagos cruise will
take you into a fascinating natural world, full of history and natural beauty.
Here the animals have never learned fear of predators and roam the islands freely.
Experience nature in a manner never before experienced. The Galapagos Islands are home to penguins, iguanas, sea lions, giant sea turtles,
and a vast array of seabirds and sea animals. Cruise among the islands by day,
taking shore excursions led by your naturalist guide. By night on board, attend
lectures and briefings on the natural history of this fascinating world. |

Bartolome is famous for "Pinnacle Rock" - a landmark. Here too are sea iguanas, Galapagos penguins, also white tipped sharks,and great snorkeling |

Colonies of waved albatross colonies , blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, and plenty of sea lions; along with marine iguanas, mockingbirds, lava lizards, sally lightfoot crabs, the Galapagos species of doves, large cactus finches, oystercatchers, swallow-tailed gulls, and Galapagos hawks. |
| Island of Santa Cruz |
The town of Puerto Ayora and the Charles Darwin Research Center. Wild giant tortoises with eleven species of surviving turtles, Darwin finches (thirteen species). Galapagos Island, hawks and flycatchers to name a few. |
| Island of North Seymour |
Here you will see land iguanas, also, frigatebirds, colonies of sea lions, additionally blue-footed boobies, the swallow-tailed gulls, plus bright yellow warblers, and even fur seals. |
| Island of Floreana |
Greater flamingos are found here as well as pintail ducks, , some medium tree finches, as well as yellow warblers, tropic birds, and brown pelicans too. Floreana is also famous for "Post Office Bay" where whalers use to post letters home in centuries past. |
| Island of San Cristobal |
San Cristobal has a small port for ships to dock and also an airport and a few hotels. San Cristobal is the capitol of the Galapagos Islands, although the town of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz is larger. Here are lots of sea lions and masked boobies, as well as blue-footed booby colonies: Here too are frigatebirds and some indigenous seabird species. |

Home to flamingos, as well as sea lions, also pelicans, in addition to white-checked pitails. |
| Island of South Plaza |
Colonies of sea lions,, as well as red-billed tropicbirds, famous too for land iguanas. swallow-tailed gulls and the blue-footed boobies. |
| Visit to Tagus Cove |
Plenty of brown pelicans, as well as Darwin and woodpecker finches, also Galapagos penguins, as well as swallow-tailed gulls and blue-footed boobies. |
