PRIVACY POLICY INFORMATION ABOUT STANFORD TRAVEL SYSTEMS – Stanford Travel Systems collects information about our passengers through searches conducted on the internet, through forms filled out on our reservation pages, and through passenger documentation forms that are sent to registered passengers. Stanford Travel Systems does not buy, or sell or rent information about our passengers. All information provided to STS is strictly confidential and for the sole purpose of providing travel services to our clients. Some personal information such as passport numbers, must be passed on to travel partners in South America in order to facilitate the purchase of travel services such as airline tickets in Ecuador or Peru, or permits for hiking on the Inca Trail in Peru. STS does not place "cookies" on the computers of those searching the STS site.
INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE AND SHARING: Stanford Travel Systems is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. STS (Stanford Travel Systems) only has access to or to collect informaton from you, the passenger(s) given to us voluntarily by email or other direct contact from you. STS does not sell or rent this information to anyone for any reason.
We will use your informaton to respond to you, the passenger, only with regard to the reason that you contacted us. STS will not share passengers information with third parties outside and beyond our company, other than what is necessary to complete your request and fufill the terms of your reservations and booking. Unless you request othewise, we may at times contact you to advise you of new products and services or with regrard to specific changes in this pricacy policy.
YOUR CONTROL AND ACCESS TO INFORMATION: You may request and can opt out of any furtue contacts with us at any time. You may do so by contacting us by emai or the phone numbers given on this website. We will also share with you what if any date we have about you, allow you to change or correct any data we have on you, allow you to delete any date we have, and in general express any concerns or reservations you may have about the use of your data.
SECURITY: We have taken precautions to protect your data both online and offline. Sensitive information such as credit card numbers and addresses are collected by secure fax at our office. Only employees on a need to know basis are given access to personal information, and only for the purpose of billing a customer or providing for a specific service. Information and sensitive data is stored in a secure environment and not available to anyone other than authorized employees or officers of Stanford Travel Systems, Inc. PAYMENT
In order to process the necessary reservations, a certain amount,
per person, is required by check or credit card.
(*) The discounted package price(s) quoted reflect a reduction
for check, money order, or bank wire payments. For payment
by any other means a 3% to 5% charge may be added to the
final invoice.
STANFORD TRAVEL SYSTEMS/THE OPERATOR WILL CONFIRM SERVICES
AND ISSUE AN INVOICE AND APPLICABLE TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AFTER
THE REQUIRED DEPOSIT/PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.
- Additional payments may be required after confirmation
of the services.
- Final payment is due normally a minimum of 62 days prior to departure.
- Services and the various components of a tour package are sold only as
a "package".
No "breakdowns".
- All rates for the arrangements are based on the value
of the U.S. dollar in relation to foreign currencies and
on travel
tariffs in effect as of the date of the quotation, and
are subject to adjustment (up or down), at anytime.
Any modifications, whatsoever, in the terms or services
quoted for a particular itinerary may also modify the price(s). Additionally, we reserve
the right to charge a service fee for additional change(s)
requested after the service(s) have been confirmed.
STANFORD TRAVEL SYSTEMS/ THE OPERATOR REQURES THAT THE
PASSENGER(S) FILL OUT A DOCUMENTATION FORM WITH FULL
NAME(S) AS SPELLED IN THE PASSPORT(S), AS WELL AS PHOTOCOPIES
OF
THE FIRST PAGE OF THE PASSPORT(S) BEFORE RESERVATIONS
MAY BE PROCESSED. |
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS U.S. citizens need a
valid passport for travel abroad. Passport(s) should be valid
for at least 6 months at time of travel. For specific VISA
requirements, please consult the applicable consulate(s)
in the United States or a "visa service". We are
not responsible for losses of any kind, due to problems with
travel documents! It is the ultimate responsibility of the
passenger(s) to have all the necessary travel documents in
order. For those traveling to Brazil, you may find visa information

HOTEL(S)
The package price includes accommodations
for the hotel(s) specified in the day-by-day itinerary or
similar, including taxes and service charges. In outlying and remote areas,
the best available properties will be utilized. Specific
type of accommodations may only be requested and are not guaranteed until confirmed in writing.
Furthermore, the quotation or tour package price is based on the use of STANDARD grade
rooms or "the run of the house". Deluxe grade rooms
with specific type of "views" and/or "setups" can
only be provided upon payment of extra "upgrade" charges.
Details on request. Regular check-in and check-out times
apply at the hotels. For passenger(s) arriving early in the
morning or departing late at night, early check-in and/or
late check out can be guaranteed, upon payment of supplemental
charges (to be added to the package price). The right is
reserved to substitute hotels for similar ones, should circumstances
necessitate.

TRANSFERS & SIGHTSEEING Include
the services of English speaking guides (as indicated); including
baggage and handling tips outside customs and immigration
area(s) at airport(s) and hotel(s) (door-men only).

PAYMENT POLICY The deposit is 100% applied
towards the final payment. NOTE: Additional deposits that
may be required to guarantee reservations will be stipulated
once the reservations are confirmed. Full payment is required
no less than 62 days prior to departure. During periods of
high season travel, or during festivities or local holidays,
immediate and NON-REFUNDABLE payment(s) may be required.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations received
after payment of the required deposit(s) and more than 60
days prior to departure, are subject to forfeiture of 100%
of the deposit(s), plus any other supplemental charges or processing fees imposed by our
suppliers at the time of cancellation. Additionally, for
cancellations received from 90 to 60 days prior to departure,
an additional 50% of the total package price will be forfeited. "No
Shows" are subject to a 100% cancellation fee. These
conditions are strictly enforced. Once on tour, there are
no refunds for unused services, for any reason whatsoever.
Stricter policies may apply for bookings during holiday periods
and/or "peak season" dates.

RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSE
Stanford Travel
Systems, Carlsbad, California, its "Internet Sales and
Marketing Agents" and the Operator(s), act only as independent
contractors and agree to exercise the best discretion and judgement
with regard to advertising and arranging travel, whether by
railroad travel, boat, motor vehicle, bus or air travel, andalso booking accommodations,
and assumes no liability for any damage, injury, loss, delay,
accident or other irregularity which may occur either by reason
of a defect in any vehicle or by the default or negligent act of any person or other company in the service of conveying or
booking the passenger(s), and / or by virtue of any such omission or act
of any person or company in carrying our the arrangements
of the tour.
We accept no responsibility for expenses or additional losses
due to changes or delay in air or other services, or due
to weather, sickness, war, strikes, quarantine or other such similar
causes, which are the result of the acts or omissions of other(s).
Any losses or such expenses will have to be borne by the passenger(s),
as the tour or package price provides arrangements only for the travel time
states or stated. All prices then are based upon the current tariffs and current foreign
exchange rates and are subject to adjustment in the event
of changes therein. All air , cruise, land and rail arrangements
are subject to adjustment and or change due to operational considerations or conditions
beyond the control of Stanford Travel Systems Incorporated,
Carlsbad, California, its "Internet Staff, Sales and Marketing
Agents" and the Operator(s).

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We
strongly recommend that the passenger(s) consider purchasing travel
and trip cancellation
insurance to protect their travel investment, in case the
passenger(s) may find it necessary to delay or cancel part of or the entire
trip. The cancellation policy is strict. For further information
on insurance, please go to www.travelguard.com. This is a

For those passenger(s) who decline to purchase travel insurance,
Stanford Travel Systems requires that a release form be signed. |
FORUM SELECTION NOTICE Any and all disputes
arising out of this agreement shall exclusively be brought
before the appropriate court in the county of San Diego,
within the state of California. The law governing this agreement
shall be either the federal or state law applicable to the
dispute in force within the state of California during the
time period of the alleged dispute.

BAGGAGE
Baggage and personal effects
are strictly and solely the responsibility of the owners at all times while traveling.
We are not responsible for damaged or lost baggage, for any
reason, whatsoever. Please purchase travel/trip cancellation/
baggage insurance to protect your property.

PERSONAL EXPENSES
Not included in the
tour price are personal expenses such as alcoholic beverages,
internet and telephone charges, and laundry expenses. Other expenses such as personal transfers and excess baggage charges are not included. |
VACCINATION
It is recommended that all passengers consult their personal physician for any vaccination recommendations while traveling.
Vaccinations requirements vary by and according to the country.
