WHAT'S NEW - Galapagos Weather August to October
As the warm season wanes, warmer weather gives way to cooler nights and days. Days are beginning to cool and the occasional drizzle subsides. Winds gradually increase in the afternoon, with the coolest weather being in September. The water temperature decreases up to ten degrees farhenheit too and cooler water will prevail through September and October. . Great weather for snorkeling, so bring your wetsuit.
Being on the Equator, you will want to bring good sun protection, especially while swimming or snorkeling, and so a good sun screen and wetsuits while snorkeling are recommended. Day time temperatures can reach to the mid eighties (Fahrenheit), and the seas are very calm. Naturally the nights are cooler.
Wildlife is abundant and the blue footed boobies can be seen lining the trails on Espanola Island, while frigate birds mate on North Seymour.
Late summer sees the Waved Albatross, their natural breeding home being the Island of Espanola, as they begin raising their young.

"What a great trip!! It was everything our family had hoped for in our planning for the Galapagos. The stay in Quito was wonderful, the guides and the driver were so friendly and well informed. They helped make our trip absolutely seamless, without the usual traveler's mishaps.
The boat, Queen of Galapagos, was very comfortable and the captain and crew were gracious, friendly and helpful in everything you might need. They went out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. Billy, the naturalist guide was great. He was so knowledgeable and tried to tailor daily excursions to the interests of the guests. Our whole family felt we had an education on the geography, wildlife and environment of the Galapagos.
Snorkeling was possible almost everyday,,,,and one had the feeling of having the islands to ourselves We swam with the sea lions, sea turtles, beautifully colored fish and even some small sharks. My grandchildren were thrilled. There were hikes among the iguanas, albatross, blue footed boobies, frigates and watched to see the flamingos feed in a pond. The stay in the Galapagos ended with a visit to Lonesome George at the Darwin Center on Santa Cruz Island.
Commendations to Stanford Travel, you and all your staff including the crew and guide of the Queen of Galapagos, for a trip of a lifetime. Thanks again. " The Mears Family 2010
