WHAT'S NEW
In the Galapagos Islands, December and January are the transition months and the beginning of the warm season, leading up to the hottest months in April and May. Some days are overcast while the cooler days are giving way to warm and sunny days ahead. Often the clouds will disspate by aftenoon and sunny weather will prevail. However, the temperatures are very comfortable with air temperature in the mid 70's (fahrenheit) as well as water temperatures too. Very comfortable temperatures, considering the fact that the Galapagos Islands cross the Equator. Islands in the west such as Fernandina and Isabela tend to be cooler. This is great weather for snorkeling, however wetsuits are recommended to protect against the midday sun. It may rain occasionally in the afternoons for short periods, but there is a determined weather pattern of sunny mornings during this season. The ocean is generally calm due to the absence of the south east trade winds. These weather conditions make this month unique, where you will find the opportunity to watch many land species at their best. ht.
As the air temperature rises, so does the water temperatures, which can also get into mid-seventies. (Fahrenheit) depending on the island. This is great snorkeling weather, though a light, short wetsuit is advisable to protect against the Equatorial sun.

"Galapagos Island Cruise Update: "I just wanted to send you a note to let you know how pleased we are with the services that you and your company provided for us. I found out about your company while surfing the internet, looking for a way of booking the boat MV Galapagos Legend.
The Galapagos cruise on the was fantastic. We had booked the 5 day, 4 night trip, and every minute was a wonderful adventure. The service was excellent, the excursions and guides were very informative, and all the transfers went very smoothly.
We were a little concerned about our transfer at Guayaquil from the port where the Royal Princess was docking. However, we had emailed a couple of days ahead of time to the Quito office, and they assured us that everything would be fine. And so it was. We were met promptly at the pier at 7:15 am as planned. We then had a wonderful tour of the new refurbished waterfront area of Guayaquil. We got lots of photos of a place that we had not expected to see!
They took us to the airport, and made sure that our tickets, etc were all arranged for us. It was marvelous and seamless! John and I really appreciated the care and courtesy of all the people involved with the Galapagos trip and flight to Quito.
